Fenerbahce is back, ready to qualify for Final Four

Monday, October 17, 2011
After claiming the men's Super Cup on Saturday by beating Arkas Izmir, Turkey's second representative in the upcoming 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League, with an impressive 3:0, the canaries are now ready to focus on winning the other three cups.

Fenerbahce will face Lube Banca Marche Macerata, Lokomoti Novosibirsk and Hypo Tirol in Group E of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League.

"Of course, winning the Super Cup motivated us to do better and to achieve more. The Turkish Super Cup is claimed before the new season starts, so it sort of sets the mood for the team and also for the fans at the beginning of each season. Now we claimed the Super Cup and also won our first game in the Turkish League. The season is going very victorious for us, but I'm aware that the ultimate victory can only be achieved through another success in Austria. Our only aim is to qualify for the Final Four.", Fenerbahce Coach Daniel Jorge Castellani revealed when asked about the upcoming game against Hypo Tirol in Austria.

Team captain Arslan Eksi also added: "We are first Turkish team to have ever qualified for the next round in the CEV Volleyball Champions League. We are proud of this success, but we also want to take this a step further. In order to reach our goals, we know that we have to beat Hypo Tirol. I know our fans will never leave us alone and I want to thank them for their endless support so far."
