Game Preview: Fenerbahce Dogus - Olympiacos

Fenerbahce Dogus is looking for a home victory against Olympiacos, tomorrow at 20:45. This match will be broadcasted on beIN Sports 3.

For the first time since the 2017 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Championship Game, Fenerbahce Dogus and Olympiacos Piraeus will meet on Wednesday. Both teams sport 4-2 records, but while the champs are undefeated at home this season and coming off back-to-back wins, the Reds are looking to recover from back-to-back losses.

The game will be a tale of defense as much as anything else as these teams allow the fewest points in the league: Fenerbahce tops that category at 69.5 points allowed per game and Olympiacos is close behind at 70.8.

Fenerbahce Dogus guard Kostas Sloukas (11.3 ppg., 6.5 apg.), who won a pair of EuroLeague crowns as an Olympiacos player, is always at the center of attention when these teams meet, though he is joined by Brad Wanamaker (12.2 ppg., 4.3 apg.) as the leaders of a strong Fenerbahce Dogus backcourt.

Olympiacos counters with Vangelis Mantzaris, Brian Roberts and Janis Strelnieks as the team awaits the return of leader Vassilis Spanoulis.

Gigi Datome (13.7 ppg.) is Fenerbahce’s top scorer, but Jan Vesely (12.8 ppg.), Nicolo Melli and Jason Thompson do a great job of sealing off the basket inside. The players that will challenge them for superiority in the paint are Georgios Printezis (11.7 ppg.), Nikola Milutinov and Ioannis Papapetrou. Kostas Papanikolaou and Hollis Thompson could play important roles against Datome and new signing Kyle Wiltjer could also get involved for the visitors.
